Monty the rat is looking for his forever friend

NANAIMO — Monty is a one-year-old brown rat who is currently riding solo, but you could change that.

Monty is a bit shy at first, but doesn’t take him long to warm up to you, especially if you come bearing his favourite treats like bird seed and peas.

While rats usually come in pairs, Monty seems to be happy on his own, although he is starting to warm up to the idea of a furry friend.

You can submit an application online and book an appointment if it’s a match, or stop by their Nanaimo location Tuesday-Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.
