Pedestrian hit in early morning crash along Hwy. 19A near Qualicum Beach

QUALICUM BEACH β€” A person was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after an early morning collision in Oceanside.

Police, fire and paramedics were called out to Hwy. 19A, near the intersection with Boorman Rd. around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 after a car travelling along the roadway hit a pedestrian.

Oceanside RCMP told NanaimoNewsNOW β€œthe driver of the vehicle stopped and is cooperating with investigators. The pedestrian was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.”

Hwy. 19A remained closed for several hours Wednesday morning, re-opening around 11:30 a.m. as an RCMP collision analyst attended the scene.
