NANAIMO — Ethan Mistry was in on every Nanaimo goal in a 4-3 victory over Alberni Valley in overtime.

It was a back and forth contest with the Bulldogs leading 1-0 after the first period on a long range shot by Will Elger.

Brody Waters tied the game on a second period power play and Grant Babcock’s first BCHL goal gave the Clippers the lead with 1.5 seconds left in the middle frame.

The Bulldogs made a strong push in the final period with goals by Ethan Bono and Nicholas Beneteau to take a 3-2 advantage with four minutes to play.

Mistry evened the game on a late man advantage with Nanaimo playing with six attackers.

In the first minute of overtime Mistry found Nick Sajevic with a breakaway pass and he tallied his first goal as a Clipper to lift Nanaimo’s record to 6-1.

The Clippers were 2/5 on the power play and a perfect 3/3 killing penalties and won despite being outshot 40-27.

Aidan Campbell earned his fourth win of the season with Alberni’s Callum Tung taking the loss.

The Oct. 14 three stars were:
