Cedar elementary added back to Island Health COVID-19 school exposure list

NANAIMO — Cedar elementary has experienced another series of COVID-19 exposure events.

School District 68 confirmed in a Wednesday night tweet, the school had two exposure events on March 8 and 10.

As of Wednesday evening, Island Health was still completing contact tracing.

The exposures at the school are the most recent for the District, with Mountain View elementary reporting two exposures on March 2 and 3.

The school was recently removed from Island Health’s exposure list after a pair of events in late February.

Four schools in Nanaimo, one in Ladysmith and one in Parksville are featured on Island Health’s school exposure list.

Most are due off in the coming days provided there are no additional exposure events at the schools.

School District 68 acts as a COVID-19 response team for all districts within Island Health, thanks in part to their experience in dealing with COVID-19 exposure events.
