NANAIMO — Downtown Nanaimo and Maffeo Sutton Park has a new look for Public Art Week.

Ten new pieces of temporary art are installed throughout Nanaimo Parks, replacing the 10 installed last year. This is the 11th year artists have had a chance to reinvigorate parks and create interesting designs to be appreciated by residents and tourists alike.

“Public art enriches the community and not only stimulates a response in the viewer, but has the potential to be a catalyst for community dialogue,” culture and heritage coordinator Chris Barfoot said in a release.
