Nanaimo youth sentenced for assaulting vulnerable classmate
NANAIMO — Punching a victim several times in the head and face while walking home from school led to an assault conviction for a young offender.
The incident took place on March 13, 2026, involving the offender, 13 years old at the time, and a victim described at Nanaimo Law Courts as having the intellectual capacity of a four- to five-year-old.
The offender elected to plead guilty as opposed to the matter proceeding to trial.
Names of the parties involved can’t be published under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
