Moore sentenced to 5 years

Convicted Port Alberni pedophile Wayne Moore was sentenced yesterday to 5 years in prison.

The 64-year old former barber and Sergeant-at-arms of the local Royal Canadian Legion #293 pled guily to sexual interference of a person under 14 and a person under 16, as well as sexual exploitation and sexual assault.

Moore, who had no previous criminal record, was one of three men charged with multiple sex crimes against children.

Co-accused Shawn Pater was sentenced last month to 22 years in prison for his role in the group, who would bring children to Moore’s Johnston Road barber shop where they were molested.
