Pater sentenced to 22 years in prison

A prolific Port Alberni pedophile has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

46-year old Shaun Pater has been convicted multiple times for sexually assaulting minors, with cases going back to 2005.

He most recently faced 44 charges including sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, making and publishing child pornography, and sex trafficking of a minor.

Pater’s co-accused Wayne Moore pled guilty to child pornography charges, while Terry Houbregs is awaiting trial for his role.
