NANAIMO — A Port Alberni man has been given jail time for posting multiple intimate videos online of a former partner after the relationship ended and she refused to speak with him.
Colin Lee Martineau, born in 1982, was sentenced to six months in jail and 18 months of probation in a B.C. Provincial Court in Nanaimo on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for publishing three videos of him and his former partner engaging in sexual activity on a dating site, without her consent.
During sentencing, judge Christina Proteau said the victim, whose identity is protected by a publication ban, has been “profoundly affected” by Martineau’s actions, referencing her victim impact statement.
