Clippers strike first with Game 1 win in BCHL Finals
BROOKS — The Nanaimo Clippers put on a masterclass defensively and were opportunistic on offense in winning Game 1 of the BCHL Cup Finals.
The Brooks Bandits did get the opening goal from Harry Ahlberg on a power play but from there goalie Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau slammed the door shut.
Caden Okovita tied the game on a breakaway late in the first period and neither team could score in the second.
Just 38 seconds into the final period Hayden Fecher powered a shot by Brooks goalie Zach Zahara and Tanner Bruender capped off the scoring with an empty netter in the final minute.
