UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP arrest man wanted in connection to April downtown stabbing

UPDATE: Oct 4, 11:00 a.m.- Nanaimo RCMP have located and arrested 36-year-old Joshua Seibel, wanted for aggravated assault from an April stabbing incident, several hours after the Friday release went out. He remains in police custody.

NANAIMO — Oct. 3, 4:00 p.m. Police are looking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted for allegedly stabbing a person in downtown Nanaimo earlier this year.

Joshua Seibel, 36, is wanted for one count of aggravated assault in connection to an incident on April 14 near the Port Place Shopping Centre parking lot, where one person was stabbed, with blood traces found near the TD Bank on Nicol St.

At the time, police believed an altercation broke out between two people just before 2:00 p.m., where one of them was stabbed, but the suspect was not located at the time.
