NANAIMO –  August market behind July but up over previous year

In August, 92 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, down twenty per cent from July and up ten per cent over the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 1,424 in August, down nine per cent from the previous year.

The average sale price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $893,769 in August, up eight per cent over the previous month, and up seven per cent over August 2024.

• Nanaimo’s benchmark sits at $820,700, on par with last month and last year.
• Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $702,700, up three per cent above the previous year.
• Comox Valley’s benchmark price is up three per cent over last year’s price and sits at $854,400.
• Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $796,900, three per cent above August 2024.
• The Parksville-Qualicum area is on par with last year at a benchmark price of $925,800
• Port Alberni’s benchmark sits at $524,500, which is on par with last year’s number.
• The North Island area is up six per cent over last year with a benchmark price of $469,800.
