Man wounded in Surrey area shooting incident early Saturday, say RCMP

SURREY, B.C. — Surrey RCMP say a man is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting incident Saturday.

The incident occurred at about 8:40 a.m.

Mounties say officers were called to an encampment at the 5300-block of 180th Street in the Cloverdale area to respond to a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Police say the early investigation indicates the shooting was targeted and appeared to be an isolated incident.
