Harbour Air acquiring Pacific Coastal Airlines

NANAIMO — Described as a move to create a stronger platform for future growth, an agreement has been reached for Harbour Air to purchase fellow Lower Mainland based airliner Pacific Coastal Airlines (PCA).

A brief Tuesday, Sept. 15 news release from Harbour Air states the acquisition will form a new regional group and keep both airlines under Canadian ownership.

“The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. In the interim, Harbour Air and Pacific Coastal Airlines will continue to operate as two separate and independent airlines,” the release stated.

A Harbour Air representative informed NanaimoNewsNOW that the company’s CEO Bert van der Stege is not available for interviews on Tuesday as he’s sharing the news directly with members of both teams.
