WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke Tuesday in their first call since their November summit in California, Chinese state media reported.

China’s state broadcaster said the two leaders exchanged views on China-US relations and on issues of mutual concern. The call comes amid rising tensions in the South China Sea and ahead of next month’s inauguration of Taiwan’s new president.
