Nanaimo educator over legal alcohol limit while driving kids to extracurricular event
NANAIMO — An observant RCMP officer took an alleged impaired driver off the road who had several student passengers on board en-route to an extracurricular school event.
The traffic stop occurred around 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25 near Milton St. and Fitzwilliam St. just meters from the Nanaimo RCMP detachment.
RCMP Cst. Sherri Wade told NanaimoNewsNOW an officer pulled over a 43-year-old female motorist who had four children on board after the officer believed the motorist was a suspended driver.
Wade said a roadside breath-test was administered, which the driver failed. The driver surrendered her keys, was handed an immediate 90-day roadside prohibition and the vehicle was impounded, Wade said.
