B.C. sets new single-day record high for COVID-19 cases, just two in Island Health
NANAIMO — British Columbia suffered its most active day in the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 139 new cases were confirmed Thursday, Sept. 10 by provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, setting a new high mark for case counts in a 24 hour period.
Only two were in the Island Health region bringing the total to 187 since the start of the pandemic.
The number of active cases crept back up to 1,412 after dipping slightly on Wednesday. There are eight active cases in the Island Health region.
