Vehicle hits utility pole in north Nanaimo, shuts down northbound Old Island Highway traffic

NANAIMO — A vehicle veered off-road and toppled a utility pole on the Island Hwy. in north Nanaimo Wednesday night, shutting down northbound traffic.

The incident occurred at around 9:10 p.m when police on scene told NanaimoNewsNOW the vehicle hit the pole near Enterprise Way for unknown reasons.

There were no injuries, according to police.

Police believed only one occupant was involved in the wreck.
