POWELL RIVER – Bad bounces did in the Clippers in a 5-2 road loss to the Kings.

Nanaimo started well with a tally in the first minute by Steven Agriogianis, and then the teams traded goals late in the opening period.

Levi Glasman tied it on a rebound, but Sean Donaldson replied 20 seconds later to put the Clippers in front 2-1.

The Kings evened up the game with the only goal of the second period, a weird deflection off of Brett Roloson on a shot that appeared to be going wide.

It was an eventful period in other ways too.

Tyler Williams had his first BCHL fight in the second period when he squared off against the Kings Michael Abgrall.

Nanaimo’s Josh Kagan was tossed from the game after receiving seven minutes in penalties, including a match penalty.

In the final frame the Kings took the lead on a goal that went off the skate of Nolan Krogfoss and then got an insurance marker on the man advantage that was deflected in by Ethan Schmunk.

A late tally by Levi Glasman capped off the scoring for the night.

The Clippers went down another body in the third period with Mike Kennedy called for a hit from behind and given a game misconduct before the seven minute mark.

The final shots finished 34-26 for the Kings with the power plays ending up five to two for Powell River.

Nanaimo still holds a 4-2 advantage in the season series with a rematch coming Jan. 18 at the Hap Parker Arena.
