Where to pay tribute this Remembrance Day

Nov 9, 2019 | 9:39 AM

NANAIMO — Mid islanders flock annually to their local cenotaphs and legions to pay tribute to the men and who served and continue to serve our country in order to protect the freedoms we enjoy.

Several thousand people will converge in downtown Nanaimo at the Dallas Square Cenotaph located at 85 Church St. on Monday, Nov 11.

The formal ceremony at Dallas Square begins with a parade march shortly before 11 a.m. to the cenotaph.

A military aircraft from CFB Comox will perform a fly-over, while dignitaries lay wreaths and the cannon will fire.
