‘Something for everyone:’ final planning underway as Nanaimo’s VIEx one month away
NANAIMO — Final preparations are underway with just over a month to go until the 132nd annual Vancouver Island Exhibition.
Running at the Beban Park Fairgrounds Sept. 25-27, the event is one of the biggest of its kind on Vancouver Island and features a large midway by West Coast Amusements, agricultural shows, live music, and other entertainment.
General manager Michelle Solloway told NanaimoNewsNOW many favourites are returning, however every year comes with some changes and adjustments to their lineup.
“Superdogs will be back, and VI Pro Wrestling as well. GlobalFMX sadly won’t be with us this year, but we’re bringing in the West Coast Lumberjack show, so we’ll have big logger shows every day. We haven’t had a logger show in a while, and that’s one attraction people have said they missed.”
