“I did qualify for Worlds in 2025,” Seaman said. “So I went to Half Ironman Worlds. I came 69th in my age group. It gave me a little bit of motivation, and I said to myself ‘I’m going to come back in two years when I’m at the top of my age group’. When I won in Calgary, I qualified for 2027 Worlds in Chattanooga, Tennessee, so I’ll be going to try and place top ten.”

Although Seaman comes from a running background he’s made big leaps in his training for swimming and biking.

“I think if I pace correctly, I should always have a strong run. That being said, in Calgary my bike was much stronger than my run. I think I just maybe pushed it a little too hard on the bike, but it worked out in the end.”

Triathlon training is very intense and to be successful Seaman explained it takes a year round commitment.

“A lot of guys take the off-season and train a little less, but I train full-on through the year. Even when I’m in school, I’m still training 18 hours a week…a lot of time on the bike, I ride 12 hours a week, and then three hours swimming and three hours running, and then a couple hours in the gym.”

Seaman reflected on his Ironman in Victoria this past May as his career highlight and he’s looking forward to competing at the event again.

“I really want to win Victoria overall. It’s like close to home, it’s super competitive, you get lots of guys coming up from the US who are super fit and are seasoned athletes who have a lot of experience. My family comes out, it’d just be so nice to get that one.”

For now Seaman has one race left in 2026 and that’s an Olympic distance triathlon at Cultus Lake.

Only the the 2027 Worlds are on his calendar officially next year but he’s looking to firm up more dates in the near future.
