Driver seriously injured after head-on collision in Qualicum Beach
QUALICUM BEACH — Two people were sent to hospital, one in serious condition, after a head-on collision.
Emergency services were called to the 1100 block of Memorial Ave. in Qualicum Beach, on Wednesday, June 17, just after 3:30 p.m. when a westbound Nissan Versa crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Oceanside RCMP report the drivers were the only people inside either vehicle, with both injured as a result of the collision.
“The driver of the Nissan was seriously injured and the driver of the Ram suffered minor injuries,” a statement from the detachment read. “The investigation is ongoing; however, alcohol and drug impairment have been excluded as a contributing cause.”
