An environmental group is asking the Forest Practices Board to launch an investigation into the role that MOSAIC Forestry played in the Mount Underwood fire last summer.
According to David Broadland of The Evergreen Alliance, excessive amounts of post harvest debris left on MOSAIC cutblocks and the high concentration of conifer plantation, elevated the fire risk in an area already suffering the effects of drought and climate change.
