One dead in float plane crash in remote area of B.C.’s central coast
PORT HARDY, B.C. — Police say one person is dead after a float plane crashed in a remote area along British Columbia’s central coast.
Mounties in the Vancouver Island community of Port Hardy, southwest of the crash site, say the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria notified the detachment of the crash on Wednesday night.
They say a specialized search and rescue unit went to the scene and found one of the plane’s three occupants had died in the crash.
It happened in Warner Bay, located north of the Broughton islands and Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park.
