Repeat, violent offender wanted by Nanaimo RCMP

NANAIMO — Local Mounties are searching for a man accused of several violent crimes in the region.

Arrest warrants were issued for 38-year-old Curtis Jesse Houle on three charges for assault with a weapon stemming from a Nov. 20, 2023 incident in Nanaimo.

RCMP allege Houle punched a woman and bear sprayed her.

Houle was due in court March 7 to answer to the charges, however Mounties have not been able to locate him since shortly after the alleged assault.

He is described as 6’3″ tall, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Mounties say the picture included with this article is recent.

He also has a tattoo of a skull on his lower, right arm as well as a devil on his upper right arm.

Court records show Houle has an extensive criminal background, including numerous convictions for crimes of violence, drug trafficking and driving infractions.

He was arrested in January 2020 on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations and was facing drug and firearm-related charges at the time.
