PORT ALBERNI — The Clippers and Bulldogs final meeting of the regular season turned into a war.

There were more than thirty penalties called (including misconducts) in a 6-1 Nanaimo loss.

The Clippers also lost Chase Hull and Joel Plante to injury during the game as well.

Defenceman Matt Lahey got the Clippers off to a good start with a goal seven minutes into the game but a pair of deflection goals by Lucas Buzziol and Wyatt Blace gave the Bulldogs the lead after twenty minutes.

Power play point shots from Mason Croucher and Jax Wismer extended the Alberni Valley advantage to 4-1 after the second period.

Transition markers by Brady McIsaac and Buzziol wrapped up the scoring in the third.

In the third period alone there were 23 calls made including a fight between the Clippers Cole Semeniuk and Alberni’s Fischer O’Brien.

The final shots were 38-28 for the Bulldogs with Callum Tung getting the win over Tom Kiesewetter in net.

Despite all the penalties the actual power plays were four apiece, but Alberni was able to score on two of their chances.

The loss ended a Nanaimo five game winning streak and saw the Clippers overall season series versus the Bulldogs finish at 2-4-1.

On the post game radio show on 106.9 the Wolf Clippers coach Bob Beatty said he wasn’t sure of the status of Plante or Hull for Nanaimo’s next game Dec. 1 at home to Victoria.

The Clippers ended November with a 5-2-1 record. The Clippers
