EARLIER PARKSVILLE — Oceanside RCMP are trying to find a man connected to a white 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup who may have stopped to help a man missing for the past several days.

Oceanside RCMP Sgt. Shane Worth said police believe 60-year-old Ottavio Cutillo’s car broke down on the Alberni Hwy. in Parksville near the old train station across from Buckerfields on the evening of Sep. 10.

He said area video surveillance confirmed the truck has the Ontario plates BR 63762.

“There’s no nefarious connection between him and Mr. Cutillo, we just need to speak to him and learn from them what they know when they last saw him,” Worth said.

Cutillo, a Nanoose Bay resident, was reported missing on Sept. 12. Worth said police are concerned since Cutillo has health issues requiring attention.

“We’re concerned for his health, we need to find him and make sure that he’s well.”

Worth noted police have identified the owner of the Silverado but haven’t been able to contact him. Worth hopes the truck owner contacts Oceanside RCMP.

Police seized Cutillo’s broken down car as part of the ongoing investigation.

Oceanside RCMP in conjunction with Arrowsmith Search and Rescue have been looking for Cutillo since his disappearance, Worth said.

He stated it’s believed Cutillo is still in the Oceanside area.
