NANAIMO — A pair of mid-Island dancing phenoms will try to maintain their presence on a popular televised talent show.

Nanaimo’s Jacksun Fryer and Duncan’s Carlow Rush appear live on America’s Got Talent (AGT) on Tuesday, Aug 23 at 5 p.m. on NBC.

Judging in the semi-final round is turned over to the viewing audience, who can vote online or via the AGT app.

Voting opened on Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. Pacific time and closes on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 4 a.m.

Eleven performers are scheduled to take the stage during the live two-hour episode.

Fryer and Rush impressed judges during an AGT episode in early June when the duo performed a dance medley to Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September and Rick James’ “Superfreak.”

Fifty-five entrants remain eligible in the popular show.

Over the past year Fryer and Rush amassed a large social media following, in particular by using the social media platform TikTok.
