Oceanside RCMP identifies people involved in potential Parksville assault

UPDATE: Oceanside RCMP announced it has identified the persons in video surveillance in connection to a potential assault in Parksville on Jan. 26.

No further information was provided as police investigate the matter.

EARLIER — A conflict between two people in Parksville in which a man appears to aggressively drag a woman in front of a business is under police investigation.

Surveillance video footage from the evening of Jan. 26 showed a woman in a vulnerable position being dragged on the ground as she clinged to an item which the man attempts to pull away.

It happened in the 400 block of Island Hwy East near Mills St.

The man and woman are both Caucasian and appear to be in their 30’s.

“The Oceanside RCMP have not received any direct reports from the woman and wish to identify and speak with her so we can confirm her safety and determine what occurred between her and the man,” stated an Oceanside RCMP news release.
