SURREY, B.C. — Police say an “itsy-bitsy” intruder inside a vehicle caused “scramble” on the weekend in Surrey, B.C.

It also led concerned members of the public to call police about the possibility of a woman in distress, although the Mounties say it turned out that a spider was behind the reports of a “suspicious circumstance.”

The RCMP say they received the calls Saturday afternoon about the woman travelling in a sport utility vehicle.

Members of the public said she had opened the door of the SUV while it was moving, but police determined she was trying to shoo the spider out of the vehicle.
