NANAIMO — The caution tape tied to most playground structures in the City and RDN is set to come off.

Effective Wednesday, June 3 all playgrounds in the City of Nanaimo and the Regional District of Nanaimo will be accessible once more, a further step forward in returning to normal life.

Playgrounds across Nanaimo were closed on March 21 when CAO Jake Rudolph responded to public pressure to close the facilities in the wake of the growing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Regional District followed with their closure on March 23.
