Quick-thinking home owner sends thieves running from Cedar property
NANAIMO — An alert home owner likely thwarted a break and enter on their Cedar property.
He alerted Nanaimo RCMP around 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 26 after noticing the lock on his barn was broken. Moments later, a horn sounded from his driveway and the home owner saw two men running from his property and a woman inside a car.
Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW the home owner grabbed his phone to get a key photo.
“He did a great job, he didn’t intervene directly but he noted where the two suspects were running off to. With his phone, he used it appropriately to get a picture of her and the license plate number which is exactly what we’re looking for.”
