Canada’s MacLennan wins bronze in trampoline world championships
TOKYO — Two-time Olympic gold medallist Rosie MacLennan of King City, Ont., captured bronze in the women’s individual trampoline event on Sunday to wrap-up the 2019 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships.
Canada leaves the competition with three bronze medals, an Olympic qualification spot in women’s trampoline, and four quota spots for the 2021 World Games in tumbling and double mini-trampoline.
MacLennan, a gold medallist at the last two Olympic Games in London and Rio, entered the individual trampoline competition as the defending world champion. She scored 54.820 points to take the bronze.
Japanese women earned the top two spots on the podium. Mori Hikaru of Japan took gold with a score of 55.860 while Chisato Doihata won silver with 55.225.
