NANAIMO — Vancouver Island University students will now be studying under the watchful eye of a recently installed totem pole.

Te’tuxwtun, meaning Mount Benson, was officially unveiled in the Centre for Health and Science building on Saturday, Feb. 9.

It was created by Indigenous artist William Good and represents the “beginning of humanity, of healing and of learning,” a release from the university said.
