NANAIMO — Firefighters worked late into Wednesday to quench a house fire in the 400 block of Selby St.

The call came in shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

Captain Brian Cripps said though the call about the fire indicated children may have been inside, thankfully there were no injuries.

“There’s a lot of damage in the first couple of rooms. We arrived on scene with heavy smoke and flames showing out of the front side of the building,” Cripps said.
