Early morning fire carves out part of a house
NANAIMO — A fire which started in an RV trailer quickly spread and significantly damaged the inside of a Nanaimo home.
The blaze started at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24. at 673 Western Acres Rd.
Brad Wood, assistant chief of operations with Nanaimo Fire Rescue, said it took several hours to put out the fire and crews were on the scene until roughly 5:30 a.m.
Someone was inside the trailer at the time but they escaped without harm, according to Wood. The two residents inside the home also made a quick exit.
