Popular City-wide swap meet goes this weekend
NANAIMO — One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
That’s the idea behind Nanaimo’s Reuse Rendezvous. The annual city-wide swap meet happens Aug. 11 and 12. People are encouraged to put unwanted household items at the curb for others to pick up, take home and reuse.
The items need to be reusable, not garbage. Things like furniture or sporting goods, old pots and pans or something you would probably consider donating to a thrift store.
The Rendezvous has been running in Nanaimo for more than 15 years, although participation seems to have slipped a bit recently because of things like swap and shop forums on social media.
