Nanaimo police issue warning to pedestrians after woman hit while jaywalking
NANAIMO — A 21-year-old woman was hit by a car while trying to cross the Pearson Bridge on Terminal Ave. in Nanaimo.
The woman was hit at about 6 a.m. Wednesday morning by a southbound car and taken to Nanaimo Hospital with undetermined injuries, Nanaimo RCMP said.
Cpl. Jon Stuart told NanaimoNewsNOW the driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
“It appears that the pedestrian was not using a location that had a designated crosswalk to cross the highway.”
