Rainfall drills Nanaimo area in April
NANAIMO — April showers took on a whole new meaning with 144 mm of rain pouring down locally, the second most amount all-time in April in Nanaimo, according to Environment Canada.
Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau said April’s downpour followed the 11th wettest March recorded on the mid-island.
Environment Canada has been record-keeping for the past 125-years.
Charbonneau said relief for the sun-starved appears to be in sight with a ridge of high-pressure likely settling in by this weekend.
