Clippers beat Warriors 3-2 Friday night in Nanaimo

Oct 28, 2016 | 10:00 PM

NANAIMO – Last season West Kelowna knocked the Clippers out of the playoffs, but on Friday night they got a small measure of revenge with a 3-2 victory at Frank Crane Arena.

The win improves Nanaimo’s record to 10-6-0-2 on the season.

The Clippers now have points in eight of their last nine games. The win over the Warriors was made a little more special with the player’s families in attendance for parents weekend.

West Kelowna took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Jon Russell. Jamie Collins tied it in the second, but the Warriors took the lead back 13 seconds later when Chase Dubois scored off a face-off in the Nanaimo zone. Matt Creamer tied the game again with a shorthanded goal to send the game to the intermission at 2-2.
