Drugs and weapons found in car, 3 people arrested: Nanaimo RCMP
NANAIMO — Three people “well known” to Nanaimo Mounties face charges after allegedly being found in a car with drugs and weapons inside.
RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW a neighbour’s tip prompted police to pull over a Chevrolet Malibu on Bing Kee St. near Bayview Elementary School just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking are pending against a 32-year-old man, as well as two women, ages 35 and 38, O’Brien said.
He said a small amount of drugs, an imitation assault rifle, knife, and baton were found in the car.
