Missing hiker called 911, two days after going missing in B.C. mountains
A search manager says a hiker missing for four days near Squamish, B.C., made a brief 911 call on Tuesday, and while the call dropped out, it’s given a clue to the man’s location.
RCMP said Stanislav Volo, 43, was last seen getting off the Sea to Sky Gondola at 11:33 am on Sunday, aiming to hike to the challenging Mount Habrich Loop.
But he failed to catch the gondola back down on Sunday.
Sue Nicholson with the Squamish Search and Rescue said Volo called 911 on Tuesday at about 6:30 p.m., leading rescuers to believe that he was still in the Mount Habrich Loop area.
