Arrest made after fatal Nanaimo collision

NANAIMO — One man has died, while police have a person in custody after an early morning crash.

Emergency services were called to Cavan St., near Albert St. around 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

Police say the victim did not survive.

Investigators were able to identify and arrest the driver of the vehicle believed responsible.
