Public hearing coming for pair of four-storey Parksville apartments
PARKSVILLE — A major residential development proposed to add over 130 apartment rentals to the city has advanced to the public hearing stage.
During the Monday, July 20 meeting, Council approved the consideration of first and second readings and to move the project to the public hearing stage, for a pair of four-storey apartment buildings with a total of 134 units across three lots: 457 and 489 Stanford Ave. E., and 472 Island Hwy. E.
Speaking on behalf of developer Harris Lankester Investments LTD, Magnus Hanson said it’s located in an area with plenty of amenities, including only about 600 metres from the Parksville Community Centre.
“As Parksville continues to grow, locations such as this become increasingly important because they can accommodate additional residents without relying on major, new infrastructure investments. New housing in this area will allow people to live closer to services and recreation while making efficient use of infrastructure that is already in place.”
