‘In the range of 800 to 900 folks’ already arriving for second Nanaimo Infusion
NANAIMO — The Harbour City is poised to feel a little extra busy this weekend.
Hundreds of visitors from the Island, B.C. and into the United States are arriving for the second annual Nanaimo Infusion, unofficially beginning with a food truck festival at Maffeo Sutton Park on Friday, April 24 and highlighted by a family photo in front of the Nanaimo sign the following day.
Co-organizer Tod Maffin said visitors are coming from all across the continent, some for a stand-alone holiday and others with more longer-term ambitions.
“Probably in the range of 800 to 900 folks that’ll be at Maffeo Sutton Park on saturday. Most of them visitors, most of them from the U.S., and half of the people who are coming have a health care worker in their groups to check out British Columbia and check out Vancouver Island as a place that they might want to move their family to.”
