NANAIMO — A woman well known to police, as well as the courts over recent months, is wanted by local Mounties.

Tamara Leigh Prince, 42, is facing a charge of theft under $5,000 in connection to a December 2025 robbery of around $3,500 worth of merchandise from a north Nanaimo store.

Prince is no stranger to officers, as she was charged in connection to an October 2024 robbery of Sonny’s Jewellers on Bowen Rd., where she was ultimately handed a one-year probation during a February 2026 ruling.

Her accomplice, Robert Keith Hawkins, is serving a 21-month non-custodial sentence for his role in the daytime robbery

Police say they’ve made several attempts to locate Prince, however she has not been found.

She is described as 5’9″ tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a tattoo of a butterfly, a crown and the words “Brayden 17” on her left forearm.

Those with information about Prince’s whereabouts are asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250 754 2345, quoting file number 2026-188.

In the aftermath of the jewellery store robbery, police described Prince, along with the co-accused, as “violent”, due to the nature of the robbery.

Court heard during sentencing for the pair, Prince and another individual created a ruse in connection to the crime.
