NANAIMO –  The new year is off to a slow start for single family sales

In January, 41 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, down forty per cent from the December and down twenty-three per cent from the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 895 in January, on par with the previous year.

The average sale price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $812,418 in January, down five per cent previous month, and four per cent below January 2025.

• Nanaimo’s benchmark sits at $801,700, on par with last month and last year.
• Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $657,000, on par with the previous year.
• Comox Valley’s benchmark price is on par with last year’s price and sits at $837,300.
• Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $751,800, on par with January 2025.
• The Parksville-Qualicum area is three per cent above last year at a benchmark price of $909,600
• Port Alberni’s benchmark sits at $504,400, which is three per cent above last year’s number.
• The North Island area is four per cent below last year at a benchmark price of $425,300.
