Nearly 100 new childcare spaces coming to SD68 schools
NANAIMO β Additional childcare spaces at District 68 school sites will be available this fall following a funding announcement from Premier David Eby.
Of the 180 new licensed childcare spaces pledged by the premier for the next two years at three school districts, 96 spaces are slated to be added to Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS).
βThe schools are still being determined and we will be sharing this information with the school communities as soon as they are confirmed. These spaces are in addition to the current 48 district operated before and after school spaces,β noted an NLPS statement.
NLPS CUPE members will provide the services, with the District stating it has the staffing capacity to run the programs.
