NANAIMO — A nearly two-year investigation into thefts from multiple ATM’s in the Fraser Valley region led police to raid a home south of Nanaimo, however a suspect remains at large.

Chilliwack RCMP released details of their investigation into the theft of cash from four Fraser Valley ATM machines from major financial institutions in July 2021.

Surveillance video captured a woman posing as a janitor as she took large quantities of cash from different banks.

In a news release, RCMP say the investigation, done in partnership with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), identified suspects through a series of suspicious transactions.

On March 8, RCMP raided a Barnes Rd. home in Cedar.

Police reported finding a large quantity of cash, along with several high-value items believed to have been bought with the stolen money.

However, no one was arrested during the raid.
